What To Look For in a Free Colon Cleanse Recipe

There are many ways to cleanse your colon including enemas, laxatives, supplements and others. One method that is gaining in popularity, however, is do it yourself, at home recipes that you either eat or drink. There are literally thousands of these recipes floating around on the internet but how do you know which free colon cleanse recipe to choose? Every one claims to be the best. Below are the three main things to look for when choosing a free colon cleanse recipe to ensure that you make a wise choice.

1) Must contain psyllium and probiotics. These are the two main ingredients in a good do it yourself home colon cleansing recipe. Psyllium will be the most active ingredient in ridding your colon of all the bad stuff. (The reason you are doing the colon cleanse in the first place.) Probiotics help to naturally increase the good stuff in your body like good bacteria that help to ensure your colon and the rest of your digestive system is working properly.

2) Watch out for product marketers. Some recipes out there call for one or several extra ingredients that can’t be bought at a normal grocery store. Usually they require a trip to the organic store or local supplement shop. While these ingredients can be good, they can also be unnecessary or even bad for you in one way or another. Some of the recipes that call for these type of ingredients are nothing more than advertisements for their own products.

3) Allergens. Many people have made the mistake of not looking closely at the food ingredients or supplements that a free colon cleanse recipe may call for. Obviously, there could be disastrous results if you ingest something you’re allergic to. If a recipe calls for an ingredient that you’re not sure about you can call your doctor to ask what the risks involved are or better yet you can see an allergist that can test your body against some or all of the ingredients in the recipe.

Using common sense when deciding on a free colon cleanse recipe to follow is the best advice I can give. Look for recipes that have stood the test of time and follow the above guidelines and you will be fine.
